Cry once!
The price is a little more than I wanted to spend, but I'm super glad I did. Couldn't be happier with the Byron 10'6. It's sturdy and was easy to handle when the water get's a little rough. Buying quality the first time is always worth it. The board is built well and easily held my three kids or me and one of them for a good ride. The fin mounts easily and without tools. Getting it back out is little harder but manageable. The double/single action pump is a lot nicer than expected. Just remember to put the board's valve in the right position before you start pumping. Everything fits easily inside of backpack/roller bag, and not just the first time. The board with fin and leash weights just under 18lbs. The backpack with board, pump and paddle weights 29lbs. This was really appreciated when I had to hike it into a lake in Utah and when the kids were wanting to take it out. Lesson's learned-the pump won't start registering pressure until it hits 7psi, but the board will start to feel firm prior. You will want to keep pumping and go towards the upper end of recommended pressure, which makes the ride more stable.
I reached out to customer service twice. Both were my own doing, but they were very responsive and helpful. It's like buying into a family business.
